My childhood friend since 1st grade is Dodd Mays. After spending 4 years in Kenya doing missionary work with his wife and 3 children, he moved back to Wilmington. He is now pastor of Freedom Baptist Church. This past Sunday, he asked me to speak to his congregation about my journey. Really good people there and Dodd is a very gifted minister. I had my sidekick, Gabi, with me as usual, and she said her daddy didn't embarass her.
I'm finally able to run again, though not as far each day. Just a couple of miles at a time. I really learned a lesson about pushing myself too far.

Congrat's on speaking to the congregation . . .I'm sure you did fabulous, were an inspiration to many and didn't come close to embarrassing Gabi :) . . I'm sure she'd speak up if you did. Glad you are back running....take it easy - don't hurt more than you have to!! Have a fab weekend! D.
